Leukemia chronic lymphocytic (CLL) is characterized by a very heterogeneous clinical course. Biological characteristics of leukemia chronic lymphocytic (CLL) are accidentals (ATM and TP53) cytogenetic and mutational status of the variable region of the heavy chain of immunoglobulin (IGHV). The mutational State of IGHV has a prognostic value and defines 2 subsets of LLC with different biological and clinical characteristics.
Patients with a mutated IGHV gene tend to have a less aggressive and more indolent, with a longer overall survival disease. Patients with an IGHV not mutated usually show a more aggressive clinical course with a shorter overall survival.
