Gliomas are the most common type of neurological tumors of adults. Gliomas are classified by the World Health Organization (WHO), according to their morphological characteristics, into three main categories: astrocytomas, oligodendrogliomas, and mixed gliomas (Mixed oligoastrocytomas or MOA). Mortality in these tumors is estimated at 80% in the first year after diagnosis.Typical treatment is surgical resection and radiation.
